Colonial Park Gardens

About the Gardens

Colonial Park Gardens is a collection of botanical display gardens located in the western portion of Colonial Park. This property has a rich human history, beginning with the first Lenni-lenape residents and later English and Dutch settlers who established farms. It includes an award-winning formal rose garden, a perennial garden, a sensory garden, and other horticultural collections including ornamental grasses and shrubs. These gardens are located within a nationally accredited arboretum. They are free to visit and provide year-round interest, boasting a wide diversity of plant genera, and an ever-changing palette of color, form, and texture. Gardens are for everyone. We aspire to connect people and plants in a healthy and beautiful outdoor space, to foster education, inspiration, and enjoyment.
